Chiang Mai Mountain High: My OT Journey Part 4

During my Fusion 1, 2, & 3 QiGong Course I stayed in Doi Sacket Chiang Mai

After the course I stayed in the Old City Chiang Mai for another week. Chiang Mai firsts included seeing three people riding together on a motor scooter and frequent diverse smells (e.g., pot, incense, street food). I took a day trip to Erawan National Park where I was guided by kind-hearted Karen villagers, Myanmar refugees living there who guided me past waterfalls, bamboo bridges, as well as sugar cane, rice, and coffee farms.

The next day I visited a “Monk Chat & Meditation” at Wat Dowadung Monastery learning Buddhism, mindfulness, loving kindness, and walking meditation. The monk kept telling me during walking meditation to “slow down and pay attention”, something my friends back home have been telling me for years.

Tomorrow I fly to Bangkok to begin the World Federation of Occupational Therapists 2026 Conference where I will present my Pediatric Mindfulness Poster and visit a Thai Adolescent Psychiatric Hospital #FABStrategiesBook #WFOT2026 #FABStrategiesBook
