My craziest stories are true. While attending the Quinnipiac College occupational therapy program in 1979. my math professor gave us an assignment to make a punch card program using the colleges’ big computer. I told Kim about this quote, stupid assignment, since “ computers are just a fad that won’t last year“. Kim disagreed, but the computer was half the size of the room and most of what it could do I could do on a calculator. Kim disagreed with me. It’s 46 years later Kim Hartman has a couple of PhD’s, was Director of the Quinnipiac OT Program for 21 years, and still disagrees with me about computers being a fad. I remember she had this crazy idea that someday computers would evolve and one day be able to talk with people and help them learn.
